Grieving With Support: Addressing Pet Loss With A Caring Psychologist

If you're feeling heartbroken, confused, guilty, having difficulty processing the circumstances, or dealing with other tough emotions, Dr. Bennett is a trained psychologist who specializes in the bond between humans and animals. She provides caring, personalized support to help you cope with your grief and honor your pet's memory.

Meet Dr. B.

Dr. Bennett is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in being of service to others. She addresses various mental health issues and creates a safe space for people to explore their strengths and build resilience. A lifelong animal lover, Dr. Bennett has worked with combat military veterans, improving their mental health through connections with service and emotional support animals. She has supported an emotional support dog training program for the Florida Department of Corrections that gives shelter dogs a second chance through structured therapeutic training for both the dogs and their temporary handlers. She is a professional member of the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement. Dr. Bennett has also volunteered with a few farm animal rescues, including her favorite, Critter Creek Animal Sanctuary in Gainesville, Florida.

After the heartfelt loss of her beloved soul dog in 2017, Dr. Bennett actively sought to find a mental health provider who could understand and help her process this unique sense of grief. At that time, the only resource available was the Association for Pet Loss & Bereavement. Seeking solace, she participated in their support programs as a participant herself. During this journey, she made a heartfelt vow to the founder, who had encouraged her to become involved with his team. She promised that once she had navigated through her own bereavement, she would wholeheartedly dedicate part of her professional practice to support the psychology of animal wellness, as well as the emotional needs of the humans who lovingly care for their pets.

The practice specializes in discreet, personalized, and world-class telehealth services in a time when it has become overwhelming to locate, or even trust that you have found the right psychologist for you or a loved one. Contact us today for a free consultation call.
